LoRa® indoor and outdoor gateway systems

LoRa® stands for 'Long Range Low Power'. LoRa is a network technology that allows small amounts of data to be transmitted over a longer distance, in particular by wireless sensors or devices that run on a battery due to the ultra low power consumption.

Access essential data via LoRa® RF

For example, one node can send about 10 years of data powered by a single set of batteries. This allows insight into the status of "things" in a very advantageous way. These things include predictive maintenance, insight into production processes, increasing production efficiency and preventing incidents. When no transfer of information occurs, the connected sensors will not consume any power. A LoRa device can therefore operate on two penlight batteries for no less than 15 years.

LoRa® Gateway is the hub in LoRaWAN implementation

To set up an M2M architecture through a LoRaWAN network, hardware with LoRa® RF technology is needed. The connection can be set up by purchasing 1 or more LoRa® Gateways.

LoRa® sensors send the data to the LoRa® Gateways. The LoRa® Gateways are connected to the internet via the standard IP protocol and send the received data from the LoRa® sensors to the corporate network, the server or the cloud. Gateways are always connected to power and act as a transparent bridge by converting RF packets to IP packets and vice versa.

Modular outdoor ruggedized IoT LoRa® Gateway

This L-Gateway ruggedized modular outdoor LoRa gateway | base station of RFI Engineering makes a versatile wireless connection possible with various internet of Things (IoT) applications. The gateway uses LoRa RF technology and consists of a 2-way wireless connection, which operates on the ISM band frequency. LoRa® RF packets are sent via the gateway to an external server via IP / UDP link. In addition, the S-Gateway broadcasts LoRa® RF packets that are sent by the external server. Equipped as standard with 1 LoRa® radio, a GPS receiver and an advanced 3G modem.

Picocell indoor LoRa® gateway

In addition to an outdoor solution for setting up your LoRa® M2M architecture, we also have an indoor gateway from RFI Engineering in our product range. This Gateway can be used for Enterprise and light industrial applications. Ideal for an industrial environment where zero-touch high volume deployment is needed.

This gateway is standardly equipped with 1 LoRa® transceiver and a uBlox MAX-M8W GPS for advanced timekeeping, which makes class B operation possible.

The LoRa® Gateway for transport

In addition to Gateways with a 3G & GPS connection, we also have AAEON Gateways in our product range. These LoRa® Certified Intel® Based AIOT-ILRA01 Gateways are compact, but also advanced. AAEON gateways are edge devices that can be used flexibly and can quickly communicate with other IoT sensors / devices via LoRaWAN®, WiFi, BT, 3G or 4G.
